Hi Debra! I'm in! Actually we lost power for an hour or so yesterday, and we did just fine ---it was easy and the time flew by!
I'm in- my daughter thinks I'm crazy- but teach them young!
I plan on participating, although not sure of the exact time frame, but I do plan on making an effort and also spreading the word on the event.
Hi Mary....oh my ...someone REALLY wanted you to participate in Earth Hour...that is too funny! We powered down right before 8:30 p.m. It was pretty cool because we saw the lights of a couple of homes across the river go out at the same time. We actually really enjoyed the candlelight and actually extended it until about 11:00 p.m. It was fun and VERY easy.
Cindy, thanks for stopping by and that is great you were IN. What did you do during the hour and did your daughter do it with you? :-)
Robert, that is very good, thanks! It's fun to do it at the same time you know people all over are turning the lights out, and I think it heightens our awareness of all of the power we use without even thinking about it. It also makes you appreciate it more by going without for even a short time. I think we mostly take it for granted here and live like we have an endless supply of resources. Continuing to be conscious of what resources we use and continually trying to conserve after the event is the goal.
